Mac Flava

At the age of thirteen, Jerry McMahan began per
forming and playing bass guitar with his brother's gospel group, "The Ohio Gospel Singers".

Jerry McMahan, under the name Mac Flava has performed with a number of renowned artists and musicians, such as Jack McDuff, including perfor-
mances on stage with Stanley Clark and George Duke.

Mac Flava toured and became a recording artist
at the age of seventeen when he became the bassist for the Columbus based group known as the Suspicious Can Openers, on the Mo Soul recording label, which led to the recordings: "Fever In Your Hot Pants", and
"Tuesday In The Rain". (1971).


Soon thereafter, Mac Flava relocated to Des Moines Iowa to team up with his brother, Ronnie and they both joined the group "Split Decision Band".  This union led to great success overseas touring in Europe and Japan, as well as recording the hit single "Watching Out" and "Dazed" on the Network Record label.

Upon returning home to Columbus, Ohio in the late 1980's, Mac Flava began playing
with groups such as the Quench Band, Jazz Patrol, Lady NIKKI and the House Band. 
Jerry McMahan (Mac Flava) connected with Gene Walker and became an All Star until Gene's passing.  Mac Flava helped form and played in the Columbus Fusion Band.

Mac Flava recently released his long awaited solo CD entitled Mac Flava.  Mac Flava currently works with REMERO records who remastered the original Suspicious Can Opener releases "Fever In Your Hot Pants" and "Tuesday In The Rain" which have been successful and received acclaim in the USA and abroad.
